Hmmm... well, to counter-act Setu's hate and lack of care...  Storm, I'm thankful that you brought this up ^_^  True, you could have brought it up better and I don't agree with you on all accounts, but I see that something good came out of this: a clarifying of the situation and a renewed dedication to better communication about progress (or the lack thereof, haha). Thanks =)

I'll be honest. It was and still is the latter, not the former. Just because I don't like jackasses doesn't mean I hate them. If he had expressed this concern in a more orderly fashion, like PMing Merc and asking him about it, instead of starting to throw flames on the progress thread and then when confronted about it acted like a damn child over it, then I'd have nothing to say about it. I just don't believe in giving people the lip-prints on their ass just because they want to complain about something when they could benevolently address the issue properly.

So anyway, I'm done with this topic.
I'm glad we agree =) I simply want to point out the good in this situation, and that's said and done for now =D Yay!
i freely give out my contact information and am rather easy to contact.  i have email, telephone, physical address, and this forum (which i am fairly active in).  if none of these methods of communication are acceptable then sorry about that I'm doing the best I can here.
urp...

: )
It's fun to see in a world of uncertain things like what government is going to be in charge of which country and who is fighting who for oil and world power, there is still the same general bickering going on here in the AD&Grin world. I may not be as close to any of these projects as others who have spoken here, but I have been arround long enough to have seen not only myself, Brain, Mercury, Max, and pretty much every other staff member (NOTE: I am not calling myself staff I am only saying other staff as a literal reference to other staff) get on one end of a fighting match or another. As said before, when playing with other people's money it makes it difficult. That's life. However, no one can expect anything more than what I have seen from the people working on this project. I have met/know people on other development teams, and I know they would give their left arm to have a team as dedicated as this one. That does not mean anyone here has ever gotten bored, tired or annoyed, but they still always seem to come back to it, even when EVERYONE is complaining (Brain I think you remember a few quests that were like that). My point is this: patience is a virtue, if you invested money in this game, that money is already gone, chances are most of the video games we all have invested money in have lived out their useage by now and are gone as well. What you have here is an opportunity to have a investment in a game that might very well survive for decades, depending on the resources and development of those in charge.
Now, I understand the frustration, I too have invested money, both in the past and now with this game, and I too would love to see it off the ground. NOT because I truly care whether or not I get to play, but rather to excitement that I might have seen and been a part of something that could be absolutely amazing, given the proper time.
I wish everyone on this project their best, and I know if this project does fail Mercury will find some way of compensation, she ALWAYS has in the past.
When it comes down to it, there are plenty of things to do while waiting for Age 5, if you need ideas, just email me, but remember we are all in this for fun, and if you stress the creators out, there's a lot less likely this game will be fun, and a lot more likely they'll throw their hands up and give up.

P.S. I have no idea about any scamming or other things, I just don't think it's fair to stress a bunch of kids (and I'm sorry but you all are under 30 so you're still kids) out over something that is not real life. Sadly too often we get so excited about the prospect of a fun game, we begin to think it is.

Sorry, I just thought that was funny hearing that come from a 22-year-old (especially since, I don't know about the other staff, but I'm 3 years older than you). I guess we're all still kids. =p

I am not slacking off, my computer is dead.

Stupid ((censored ~Kay)) boot sector on my HDD prevents booting, cant be repaired, and because its RAID-0 I cant recover anything and it makes me emo and i want to die.

I should be back online in a week. If you need me i'm kinda-sorta on MSN sometimes when i'm in a wifi-hotspot around the city.

Love and Kisses,
Mia

That's okay, Mia. They say I'm "on leave" just because I'm scoring a film right now. If they didn't know that, I'd be labeled "slacking off" too. =p
Damn right you would Tongue
Ameal, thats a very inspiring post you made there. Thank you for posting something positive. IM ALMOST 30 Tongue 27 3/4  to be exact Tongue anyways hope to see you soon we need more optimistics Smiley
amael said it pretty well.  i pretty much front a lot of costs to provide the game and the development.  the two main thing money goes towards right now is 1) bills 2) purchasing models/graphics.  we are far from going under though, so i wouldn't worry about going away any time soon.
