Some elder dragons have started distributing a new form of currency in the Mid-Rift to their lesser minions in order to gain their support for an uprising.  This currency is quite magical and in the hands of a player can be quite powerful giving players extra abilities that they would not have otherwise had.

You can acquire dragon coins by killing monsters once you are level 10 and fighting monsters who are at least level 10.  Not all monsters will have Dragon Coins.  If you receive a Dragon Coin it will be added to your character automatically, and you will receive a pretty pink message after the kill.

You can view your current Dragon Coins on the /stats command.

Dragons Coins allow you to use some additional commands.
/dragon heal - costs 1 coin, heals both HP and MP to full
/dragon gold - costs 1 coin, gives you 200gp
/dragon teleport list - costs 0 coins; lists teleports you have and how many times you can teleport there.
/dragon bind (n) - costs 25 dragon coins for 50 teleports; Sets your current location to teleport (n).  The value of (n) must be 1,2, or 3.  Warning this will override any previous teleport and reset the number of teleports you have to 50.  Example usage: /dragon bind 2
/dragon teleport (n) - costs 1 teleport; Teleports you to a previously defined teleport via /dragon bind (n).  Teleports are specific to a Teleport (n).  Example usage: /dragon teleport 1
/dragon refresh (n) - costs 5 dragon coins for 10 teleports; This allows you to add 10 more teleports to a bind location you have already set.  Example usage: /dragon refresh 3
/dragon morph (race) - costs 8 dragon coins; This allows you to temporarily morph into another race in appearance only.  You will retain the stats and name of the race for which you actually are.  Valid morphs are: human, elf, dwarf, half-elf, gnome, hobbit, drow, vampire, fairy, orc, amazon.  To change back simply re-enter the world.  You will maintain your gender except if you switch to orc or amazon which have the same avatar for both genders.

I am thinking about other commands such as a teleport and some kind of other shop which sells special items.  Please post ideas for commands!

This event will run for a while.  So no ETA for when this will be over, I may make this a permanent game feature.
Thread title:
thats cool, Merc. I just picked up a dragon coin but it doesn't show up in my inventory. Is that ok? I havn't tried to use it yet tho'.
you can view the number of dragon coins you currently have by typing /stats
Kill things and eat them!
Hi everyone. I made it back!
SW'ian Gray!
I think something like this would be cool to have as a permanent fixture... it's a nice sort of 'wild card' that adds some depth to the gameplay. Smiley

I have changed "/dragon gold" command to give only 200 gold instead of 2000.  This is for several reasons, firstly it is too high for low level characters who will be able to get this gold for a long time.  Secondly I want to replace the "PayPal" store with a Dragon Coin store that will have items purchasable in game via this system.  In the paypal store 50,000gp costs $10, and I want Dragon Coins to be purchasable 25 for $1, so the change was necessary so this can be consistent.  Early adopters got a slight bonus for testing and figuring things out.

On another note I am working on creating a teleport system using dragon coins, for 25 coins you will be able to set a spot to teleport to.  You will be able to teleport to that spot 50 times.  You will have 3 configurable teleports.  So this will go live very soon.  Might need to make a way to recharge them.
Some new commands for this cool dragon coin system!

"Lost Soul" has suggested a new command and I like the idea so here is the idea in a nut shell

Since some dragons can change shapes into other beings, a morph command seemed like a great idea.  It would allow you to temporarily become smaller or larger depending on which race you chose.

an example of this might be something like /dragon morph dwarf  ... or /dragon morph fairy

additionally I could add some special ones like invisible, ghost, dragon, etc...

I am thinking a price of 10 coins seems appropriate for this.  it would only change your appearance until you leave the world, your internet dies, the bot restarts, etc...  But I like the idea because it sounds like fun, and it sounds like it could be useful too!

SW'ian Gray!
Been playing with Dragon Coins today... very enjoyable to have those. Cheesy

A suggestion for another command: Stat boons

/dragon boost <ATTRIBUTE> - Costs 10 coins; Boosts a specified stat for 5 minutes based on the following algorithm:

(Base Attribute Points + Attribute Points Given By Items) / (Player Level / 2)

In my example, if I wanted to boost my strength, the algorithm would run... ((76+70)/(36/2)) = 8(1/9), which could be rounded down to 8.  I'm not sure how items scale at the higher levels, but if it gets to be too bad one way or the other you could adjust the algorithm by diving the player level by a higher or lower factor (higher if it is overpowered, lower if it is giving a negligible bonus)

At my level it works out nicely because a bonus of 8 STR would be comparable to me equipping a trinket or something.
i want to add a system like you describe Hyper, but the bot really doesnt understand the concept of time or buffs would be a huge headache to make it work.

There is a new command for ye dragons

/dragon morph (race) - costs 8 dragon coins; This allows you to temporarily morph into another race in appearance only.  You will retain the stats and name of the race for which you actually are.  Valid morphs are: human, elf, dwarf, half-elf, gnome, hobbit, drow, vampire, fairy, orc, amazon.  To change back simply re-enter the world.  You will maintain your gender except if you switch to orc or amazon which have the same avatar for both genders.

Warning #1
: for people with bad internet connections this might cause you to lose your morphed avatar since when you enter the world your avatar is set to a particular one, and a dropped connection will cause the bot to lose you if you are out for more than a couple seconds or the server is really laggy at the time.

Warning #2: Female tourist characters.  If you morph into another race, you will appear on your end to be the correct avatar, but to other players you will appear as a male human.  I can do nothing to rectify this so proceed with caution if you are concerned.  It was decided long ago to give tourists the correct gender appearance to others to avoid confusion by setting them to male or female humans (since they are the tourist selectable avatars) so be careful when morphing if you are a tourist and have gender concerns

I am considering some additional morphs or creating a special morph category for the more exotic avatars.
Have started using these functions , very cool indeed.

Would't mind seeing a rental shop , where you could rent items to use such as a vrykyl dagger for a day.

Maybe a steed to ride for the day.
